I also made a secret opening table this Summer. Oh yes! A whole table! It turns out this is the first table of any kind I have ever made. It has a wooden transmission inside and six locked drawers. My design for a table was juried last December by the Lilly Library at the University of Indiana and Jerry Slocum. It was one of two designs selected to be presented at an unveiling the Slocum Puzzle Room. The new puzzle room at the Lilly houses Jerry Slocum's puzzle collection. Jerry Slocum is famous for being the foremost expert on all puzzles old and new. He has written many books about puzzles and their origins, and his collection of puzzles is renowned world wide. The Lilly Library is a world class Library. It has about 400,000 books, along with over 6.5 million manuscripts, One of the original Gutenberg Bibles, considered to be the worlds rarest book, the folios of Shakespeare, Newton's Principia Mathematica are to name a few books in the collection. I am very honored to have this table in the new Slocum Puzzle Room at the Lilly Library.
I am now working on the final Waterfall Box #5. I expect to have these available coming this winter. Stay tuned for more information and photos about this new box. I hope everyone can excuse my delays in producing a book design. Please hang in there. I will be working on this edition next.
March 9th, 2006 The Pattern Box run is now set up and I will have a final proof very soon. I expect to have these completed in about two months. I'll have the final Pattern Box posted on the for sale page shortly. I expect to release the Book late Summer and the Waterfall #5 Box this Fall. In the meantime, I have completed some new small projects to keep everyone busy. Here is more about these: The Maze Burr. This is a puzzle version of the Rune Box. The Jewel Box. This is a small and very elegant box. See these also on the For Sale Page. My new workspace has been working out wonderfully. I have twice as much room as before. Click here to see photos of my new space in Denver. Have fun!
